The New Central Station (2018- 2021)
The New Central Station is an architectural and planning failure that preserves chaos; it is an example of a no-man's-land, essential for the continued existence of social order. Every week for three years, I wandered through the station’s fringes, while my gaze fixed on the architectural structure itself.
Like a detective or a forensic photographer, I sought out remnants of human activity - or clues to their absence within the station's space. These traces appeared in various manifestations: accumulation, dust, dirt, neglect, fragmentation, reassembly, improvisation, creativity, and randomness.
In these photographs, the station's areas are framed as theatrical sets shrouded in mystery. narrative still-life scenes, embodying the history accumulated over the years: the layers of time, life events, revealing signs of deliberate neglect. The spaces within the station exhibit an anarchic quality in contrast to more familiar areas, challenging the norms by defining what is considered 'normal' through their exclusion of themselves.
The New Central Station (2018–2021) consists of 75 photographs and several video works
